REGGAE singer OMI is currently working on his sophomore album in London, England.Splash caught up with him during a recording session earlier this week.
“I’m really loving not only the direction of this album but also the vibe because I get to be more instrumental in the creation of this one. I also get to work with a lot of different producers and writers,” OMI explained.
Producers and songwriters including Sky Adams, Teemu, Danny Shah, Moon Willis, Jenson Vaughn (who worked on Hula Hoop), Mark Ralph, Neil Ormandy and Phil Plested are among those who are collaborating with the singer on his upcoming album.
Pressed to reveal the name of the album, OMI said: “For right now, we are only toying with a few ideas but at the end of it all I think it will come down to being called one word.”
The album is expected to be released this summer. OMI recently collaborated with Shaggy on the single Seasons.
Me 4 U, the debut album from singer OMI, has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 500,000 units. The certification was announced earlier this year.
